For a truly fantastic meal, look no further than Auvers Cafe. You almost can't go wrong with anything you order as the dishes are well thought out and use the best combination of fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is casual and being one of the few cafes open at night, it is designed for good nights with family or friends. It's no wonder this cafe has been highly rated by many!
Through the skilful art of presentation, you can expect Auvers to beautifully execute every dish from your coffee to mains.
The Food & Service At Auvers Cafe
What makes Auvers different from your typical cafe is that art is engrained in the interior, the atmosphere and, not surprisingly, the food.
Every meal here is artistic, from the starters to the mains and drinks. This is definitely not your average cafe, and you will not forget your unique dining experience here. It's ensured that there will be something to remember from the moment you walk in.
The menu is extensive and features a wide range of options from soups, pasta, noodles and classic cafe dishes.
Auvers is a cafe and dining experience I can recommend to everyone. Their brunch and dinner menus are entirely separate, so plan multiple visits to maximise your foodie treats!
XO Pipis Spaghetti
The XO Pipis Spaghetti features squid ink spaghetti, pipis, typhoon shelter garlic crumb, sun dried tomatoes, oobiko, and XO Sauce. A delight for all the senses.
It's the perfect mix of seafood with savoury and umami notes all in one dish! The XO sauce adds extra depth of flavour to an already fantastic dish and the garlic crumb provide a lovely crunch.
The pipis topped with tobiko and sun-dried tomatoes provides the squid ink pasta with the right balance of various flavour profiles. It's a dish I would definitely recommend and would order again!
Wagyu Noodle
The presentation of the wagyu noodle stands out! the beef is cooked beautifully and served with a creamy konbu sauce and parmesan crisps. The handmade egg noodles were cooked perfectly, not too soft or hard, with just the right amount of bite.
However, the dish was heavy and one-dimensional in taste. The creaminess and the cheese were the most prominent tastes, so I would avoid this dish unless you're a big dairy fan.
Lychee and Taro French Toast
The lychee and taro french toast is a very intriguing concept that utilises Asian fruits and flavours in a classic western dish.
I loved the use of taro as it gave the overall dish a lovely purple hue and the lychee, strawberries, and blueberries added a fresh and colourful touch.
The french toast itself was delicious. Light and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. It's well-made considering the thickness of the bread.
The only element out of place in this dish is the mango sorbet. The mango flavour was a mismatched addition and did not pair well with the other parts of the dish.
Overall, a decent attempt but it still needs some work in flavour profiles and textures.
Auvers Eggs Benedict
Auvers have a fantastic take on the classic eggs benedict using a toasted croissant rather than toast as the base and an onsen egg rather than a traditional poached egg.
With the addition of a smoky ponzu sauce, corn salsa and pork floss, this dish is sure to tantalise your brunch taste buds! A great variation from the classic eggs benedict.
Signature Lattes
Lattes with an Asian twist are a signature at Auvers Cafe. Pictured below are the matcha latte, hojicha latte, and black sesame latte.
The matcha flavour was of good quality and had the right amount of sweetness. It was pretty foamy and had that beautiful shade of green and cute latte art to top it off.
The hojicha latte has an extra roasted taste and a smoky flavour. It's the perfect warm drink for the winter months.
The black sesame latte is surprisingly sweet, which is a nice balance against the savoury taste of the black sesame.
