Hawaiian Snow Review

Disclaimer: I was invited by Hawaiian Snow to provide an honest review. If you're a restaurant or food related business interested in a review, feel free to reach out!

If you thought you knew your snow cones, think again because Hawaiian Snow completely changes the playing field.

For those who have never heard of Hawaiian Snow Cones (like myself), it is an icy dessert mixed with delicious flavoured syrups.

From the first mouthful, you will experience a sense of sweet bliss as these aren't the usual ice shavings you see at your usual stalls.

While they're a staple in Hawaii, Hawaiian Snow is bringing this crowd favourite treat to the streets of Sydney.

At Hawaiian Snow, the ice is much softer, almost velvety, thanks to their A-grade machine designed for better ice shavings. The syrups are simply divine. We're talking premium flavours that blend into the ice rather than seeping through to the bottom, as you would find from every other snow cone.

With over 15 flavours (yup, 15) you can mix and match as many as you like.

The large size literally overflows from its cup and has an eye-catching appearance from its bulgy appearance.

It costs about $7-$15 per snow cone, but I could easily down two large serves because it's just that good. Trust me, although the price is on the steep end it's worth trying as you won't be disappointed!

On the flipside, as the ice melts, the flavours start to blend and makes it harder to distinguish each one. With that said, I can confirm it’s still delicious as a combined syrup.

Hawaiian Snow Menu & Flavours

Anthony and his partner Valentina launched their business with one goal: to bring authentic Hawaiian-style snow cones to Australia. Their dedication to their cause shines through their ice-making technique to the premium toppings.

While most snow cones might taste like overly sweet cordials, Hawaiian Snow cones are full of fantastic flavours and textures that take the treat to a new level.

The flavours include:

  • Strawberry
  • Grape
  • Cola
  • Lime
  • Blueberry
  • Watermelon
  • Pine lime
  • Pineapple
  • Passionfruit
  • Mango
  • Orange
  • Raspberry
  • Fairy Floss
  • Tropical Fruits
  • Blue Bubblegum
  • Specials / New flavour experimentations

Blue Bubblegum

This is a dessert flavour that I will always opt for, as Bubblegum is a favourite of mine. I grew up with this flavour (and never grew out of it), and for me, there's something about the colour blue. I'll always recommend blue bubblegum.

Passionfruit

Tangy with a sweet aftertaste, passionfruit added a tropical punch that I couldn't resist. Perfect for passionfruit lovers.

Strawberry

This refreshing strawberry syrup has a fruity flavour that tastes like actual berries rather than its artificial counterpart.

Pine Lime

Tropical vibes for some tanginess. This combo of lime and sweet pineapple was a real standout and worked well despite the fact I'm not a huge fan of pineapple. I loved how it was a refreshing burst of summer in a cone.

Pina Colada (coconut)

It's a flavour I’d never expect to find in a snow cone. I find that this is a nice contrast to the other options. Coconut isn't my personal favourite, but I can see why it would appeal to those who enjoy it.

Grape

Another flavour you can't go wrong with. The grape flavour has just the right amount of tartness without being overly sweet.

Watermelon

There is nothing more refreshing on a hot day than watermelon. Its light, refreshing taste and flavour are very true to the fruit. It is the perfect palate cleanser, especially in a mix.

RECOMMENDED

  • Mix flavours – don't settle for just one!
  • Try Blue Bubblegum if you love a sugary classic
  • Pine Lime or Passionfruit is a refreshing tropical blend
  • Go for the large size for the whole Hawaiian experience

Final Words

Hawaiian Snow has completely changed how I look at snow cones, as the ones made here are much more than flavoured ice. The attention to detail with the smooth and soft texture of the shaved ice and their authentic syrups uplift the whole dessert experience.

It's a cold treat that's not overly sweet, and you can keep eating without feeling the sugar rush. It's a simple icy dessert, but the taste is unforgettable!

Whether you see their stall or are looking for a fun experience to include at your next event, I highly recommend Hawaiian Snow.
