Hawker Eight Review

@bestspots.com.au The modern Asian fusion restaurant in Villawood that will impress you with its unique menu and drinks ⬇️⁣ ⁣⁣ At this restaurant, you will experience a delightful blend of food from various cultures, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese. The menu includes dishes that have been carefully crafted to combine the flavours of these cultures in innovative and modern ways 🤩.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ While initially hesitant as a local living in Cabramatta, I was pleasantly surprised by the attention to the textures and flavour combination of the Hawker Eight menu 😄. Asian fusion can sometimes be a miss but the dishes were presented in a modern, contemporary style that made it feel unique from other modern Asian cuisine restaurants. They combine our favourite dishes from different Asian cultures like cheeseburger spring rolls, Yukke, Chasiu Hainanese chicken 🍗, with their own creations.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The drinks menu is also an intriguing with a selection of unique and interesting choices like Thai Iced Coffee, Knafeh Milkshake 🥤, Sakura Lychee Fizz and Galaxy Lemonade 🍋. Not only were the drinks creative, they do a great job combining classic drinks with a modern twist. Then to end your meal on a high note 🎵, their torched marshmallow ice cream 🍦 is a showstopper signature dessert that is a must try.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ All of the dishes we ordered were packed with flavour and left us wanting more. The service was also excellent, as the owners were very open to feedback ✅ and had the warmest hospitality. With these traits, I'm certain that the Hawker Eight restaurant will be a long-lasting, localised favourite for many years to come 😌.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣Also a special thanks to The Fu Agency for organizing and @Hawker Eight for their awesome hospitality. As a local from Cabramatta, I was initially hesitant to try Hawker Eight, as I have very high standards when it comes to Asian cuisine. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the attention to textures and flavour combinations of the Hawker Eight menu.

Asian fusion can sometimes be a miss but the dishes were presented in a modern, contemporary style that made it feel unique from other modern Asian restaurants in Sydney. They combine our favourite dishes from different Asian cultures and put their own unique spin to it, like cheeseburger spring rolls, Yukke, Charsiu chicken and Hainanese chicken.

However, as the Hawker Eight menu is still quite new and experimental, they still haven't perfected all the dishes yet. For example, their Charsiu chicken didn't stand out and it's not something I would return to eat. Similarly, the Wagyu Green Tea Soba Noodles had a very unbalanced ratio of noodles to meat.

Creative Asian inspired drinks & dessert

The drinks menu features an intriguing selection of unique and interesting choices like Thai Iced Coffee, Knafeh Milkshake, Sakura Lychee Fizz and Galaxy Lemonade. Not only were the drinks creative, they do a great job combining classic drinks with a modern twist. Then, to end your meal on a high note, their torched marshmallow ice cream is a showstopper signature dessert that is a must try.

RECOMMENDED

  • Cheeseburger Spring Rolls
  • Hainanese Chicken
  • Knafeh Milkshake
  • Toasted Marshmallow Ice Cream

Final Words

All of the dishes we ordered were packed with flavour and left us wanting more. The flavours represented a great mix of Asian Fusion ingredients that you wouldn't typically find anywhere else in Sydney. The service was also excellent, as the owners were very open to feedback and had the warmest hospitality. Whilst there are some misses on the menu, I'm certain that Hawker Eight will be a long-lasting, localised favourite for many years to come.
