Loving Hut Review

Loving Hut, located just outside Cabramatta's main strip, is the only vegetarian restaurant I'd willingly go to despite being a serious meat lover! It has even snuck its way into my top 10 Cabramatta eats.

It has the perfect mix of comfort, affordability, and variety in food. I particularly love the gracious restaurant design from their entrance to the wall décor.

You can tell you're going to get delicious homemade Vietnamese food from the photos below.

Fun Fact!

Loving Hut is ranked #7 in my Best Restaurants in Cabramatta list. Find out which restaurant ranked #1.

You can expect the food to cater to all dietary preferences and will suit all plant-based eaters.

Here's the full Loving Hut menu (and there's also daily specials):

What's more, you're looking at generous portions that are all reasonably priced, making this spot ideal for casual group dining or a comforting solo meal.

While Cabramatta has plenty of good places to eat, I am sure you will not miss out on delicious Cabra food when visiting this vegan restaurant.

Loving Hut Menu | Vegan Vietnamese Food

Their broad, varied restaurant menu includes Asian-style soups, vermicelli salads, stir-fries, rice dishes, some Western options, and clay pots. The food generally comes out fast, so you can expect efficient service.

Mushroom Claypot

This will arrive steaming hot with mushrooms in a savoury brown sauce. While it looks juicy and flavourful, it's nothing special. But you really can't go wrong with mushrooms. I wouldn't order this dish again unless someone really wants some big mushrooms.

Vegetarian Fish Claypot

This peppery, hot clay pot dish has a soft texture and savoury flavours. It's one of my go-to vegetarian dishes. I used to have this at home, and I remember it being great.

Salt and Pepper Fried Tofu

This is hands-down the BEST dish on the menu! The tofu is golden and crispy on the outside but has an insanely silky centre. It's seasoned just right and fried to perfection. Do yourself a favour and order this every time.

Vietnamese Pancake

A crispy, golden pancake served with lettuce, mint, and vegetarian fish sauce. I didn't love it, mostly because I'm not a fan of bean sprouts, but if you are, you might enjoy this. Personally, I still think the meat version is hard to beat.

Bun Hue Noodle Soup

This dish is packed with vegetarian fish cakes, tofu, mushrooms, broccoli, and herbs in a rich, spicy sate (chilli) broth. Everyone I dined with absolutely loved it.

This is the one main veggie dish at Loving Hut that stands out and is known by veteran visitors.

Lemongrass Vegan Chicken with Rice

This aromatic vegan chicken is a comforting main that hits all the right notes. The lemongrass flavour is punchy with the right amount of savoury notes, making this a good choice if you're after something satisfying.

Tempura Mushrooms

I wouldn't recommend these, as the wateriness of the mushrooms causes the batter to lose its crispness. The result was a soggy mess so it didn't really hit the mark.

RECOMMENDED

  • Salt and pepper fried tofu (an absolute must)
  • Bun Hue noodle soup
  • Vegetarian fish clay pot

Final Words

Loving Hut is one of those rare vegan restaurants I actually look forward to visiting. Their menu offers so much variety and flavour that it's hard not to be impressed, even as a meat eater. Whether vegan, vegetarian, or just in the mood for something different, this spot is a must-try in Cabramatta.
