Pho Ann Review

Tucked away in an alleyway on the famous John Street, this no-fuss spot may not catch your eye at first, but after one taste of their pho, you'll understand why this is one of the best pho in Sydney.

It's definitely in my top two pho places, as it delivers an authentic and deeply flavourful beef broth that's practically perfect.

You won't find an extended menu here, instead just your selection of pho with variations like rare beef, brisket, beef balls, and options for tripe or chicken, making it the go-to for anyone craving a genuine pho experience.

Fun Fact!

Pho Ann is ranked #5 in my Best Restaurants in Cabramatta list. Find out which restaurant ranked #1.

You'll typically find Pho Ann packed during peak lunch hours, but don't worry, the service turnover is fast.

Like many pho restaurants, your order is often served in less than 5 minutes, an efficiency that always impresses me.

The bowls are served with fresh mint and lemon, adding that essential brightness to each rich, beefy spoonful.

And remember to utilise the free condiments, such as hoisin sauce, chilli sauce, and sate.

Pho Ann Menu | Some Of The Best Pho In Sydney

Let's take a look at some of the pho bowls I've eaten at Pho Ann.

Pho Tai Nam

The Pho Tai Nam is my go-to pho order. The pho broth here has a depth of flavour that shows the lengthy care the chefs put into simmering it.

It comes with a substantial amount of rare beef, brisket, and beef balls that meld perfectly into the broth.

The richness and warmth make it a bowl you'll savour down to the last drop.

Don't forget about the complimentary mint and lemon, a staple at any good pho spot. It’s a classic touch that no pho experience would feel complete without.

Pho Dat Biet

The Pho Dat Biet is the ultimate choice for pho lovers who want it all and enjoy all bits of beef.

It's loaded with everything, including rare beef, brisket, beef balls, tripe, and tendon, with each ingredient adding texture and depth to the already flavour-packed broth.

The rare meat is tender, while the tripe and tendon provide a satisfying chew, and lastly, the beef balls add a savoury, hearty bite.

And, of course, you must add your preferred toppings, such as fresh mint, lemon, hoisin sauce, chilli sauce, and sate. It's essentially a bowl that hits every note, but it may only be for those who enjoy offal.

RECOMMENDED

  • Beef Pho with rare beef and brisket
  • Chicken Pho for a lighter, refreshing option
  • Add extra herbs and lemon for a burst of freshness

Final Words

Pho Ann is the epitome of a classic pho done right. If you're looking for some excellent pho, head to Pho Ann in Cabramatta for an unforgettable bowl that embodies everything we love about Vietnamese pho.

Have you been to Pho Ann, or do you have a preferred Pho spot? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
