The Handpicked List Of Top Asian Cafes

Edition Roasters Darling Square

Edition Roasters is the go-to spot in Sydney for Asian fusion café food. They mix Japanese and Scandinavian together to serve up some unique dishes. Some of my favourites include the onsen egg and rice, banana bread with yuzu butter, and the udon. If you have time, consider ordering the souffle pancake, but be warned, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare.

Soul Deli

Soul Deli is a hidden gem amongst the numerous cafes you’ll find in Surry Hills. It’s a unique Korean café with a sister restaurant called Soul Dining. Some of my favourite dishes include the omelette caviar with salted cod roe and the homemade twisted Korean donut. There are also lots of fun Korean drinks on the menu such as iced Korean Maxim coffee and Galbae crushed pear juice.

Café 0.6

If you want unique tea and coffee, Café 0.6 in Alexandria has got you covered. The Out Of Space Collection combines tea with an espresso shot and milk. For example, Mercury combines matcha flavour with espresso and milk, leaving you a cool green latte-like drink. Other favourites include the Lost In Space waffle mochi hybrid and the Silverline chocolate dome.

Kentaro

Kentaro are self-proclaimed matcha experts serving up Japanese inspired brunch dishes. There are signature dishes such as the soft shell crab omelette and pork katsu sandwich. Or, if you’re more into dessert, their matcha mille feuille is a crowd favourite.

Just be aware that their kitchen is closed on Tuesdays but they still do coffee and drinks.

Dopa Donburi And Milk Bar

If you’re into Japanese donburi rice bowls and classic Japanese desserts, Dopa Donburi and Milk Bar is the place to go. With 7 locations around Sydney, you won’t have to go far to try their chef’s specials, like the matcha kakigori, karaage chicken, pork katsu, strawberry parfait, or unagi don.
