Mango CoCo is a beautiful cafe from the moment you walk in. From the bright yellow decor to the vibrant coloured dishes and drinks, it's got all the ingredients for an enjoyable dining experience. With a generous closing time around 10-11pm throughout the week (check the exact correct times below the article), it's the perfect place for a mango lover to enjoy a sweet or savoury treat well into the night.

If you love mangos you likely love other sweet treats too, and you will be spoilt for choice with other sweet treats on the menu, including churros, creme brulee, waffles, and plenty more. As a bonus, each dessert is beautifully presented, adding an Instagram-worthy touch to your experience.

If you need to break up the sweetness, rest assured this Thai cafe isn't just a one-trick pony. Mango CoCo's menu includes a masterful blend of traditional Thai flavours with modern fusion dishes to create an extensive menu of savoury dishes to satisfy all palates.

Their assortment of pasta dishes, sumptuous meat plates, delicate salads, and hearty rice dishes strike a perfect balance, ensuring that everyone leaves satisfied, no matter their preference.

An Instagram-Worthy Cafe In the Heart Of Sydney

Photos of Mango Coco's cafe don't do it justice. The cafe is beautifully designed with a fun ambience and ample space. As you walk in, you're greeted with a modern, inviting atmosphere, with plenty of seating and carefully chosen decor reflecting Thai - Mango aesthetic.

Ordering is a breeze, thanks to the efficient QR code system, and the waitstaff are friendly and attentive.

The drink variety is amazing! Even if you only have time to grab a quick drink to go, you'll surely be satisfied by the smoothies, lattes, teas, and sparkling drinks. Some standouts include the Mango Coco Sago, Lychee Butterfly Pea Smoothie, Oolong Honey Lemon Tea, and salted egg coconut smoothie.

But the real showstopper here is the dine in experience. Quickly arriving and visually presented with the utmost care, each dish is a pleasent surprise. The taste seals the deal and won me over. The mango-centric offerings burst with tropical freshness, their sweetness perfectly balanced by the savoury menu offerings.

Mango Patbingsu

Rich and creamy mango bingsu with mango pearl, fresh mango, homemade mango sauce and cream.

This Korean-inspired delicacy consists of succulent mango chunks, bursting in the mouth with natural sweetness while pairing beautifully with a naughty, generous swirl of whipped cream.

It also comes with mango pearl and homemade mango sauce to top it off. You get the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness in each spoonful, making it a must-try when you visit. It's a refreshing yet satisfying dessert, perfect for those hot Australian days or when you're craving a little taste of icy bliss.

But don't worry if you prefer other patbingsu flavour the quality is good; there's also Thai milk tea, durian (for the brave), coconut, and salted egg yolk taro ball. The variety of flavours makes it ideal for everyone, so it's perfect for a get-together for bingsu night shenanigans. However, if you're dining alone, you don't have to miss out - the bingsu serving sizes are just right for one person.

Mango Sticky Rice

Mango pudding with coconut ice cream, taro balls, coconut sticky rice, fresh mango, and coconut cream sauce.

Mango CoCo is known for their Thai desserts and the mango sticky rice is an ode to traditional Thai dessert making with its own particular twist on the classic. The sticky rice is the co-star of this dish, as it shines with its pleasingly chewy texture and subtly sweet flavour.

Each element adds to the overall experience. The coconut ice cream infuses a delightful creaminess whilst the popping pearls add a fun burst of playfulness with every spoonful. However, my favourite ingredient is the taro balls. They introduce a layer of texture and taste that's unexpected from a sticky rice dish.

The coconut sauce might not be everyone's cup of tea. In my opinion, the dish is flavourful enough without it, but it does provide an optional flavour depth for those who enjoy extra richness.

Tom Yum Prawn Spaghetti

Spaghetti, prawn, tom yum paste, coriander, cream, parmesan, tobiko and mushroom.

Diving into the savoury side of the menu, the Tom Yum Prawn Spaghetti is a fusion dish that successfully marries Italian pasta with the bold flavours of Thai cuisine. This culinary crossover may seem audacious, but once tasted, you'd come back for it again (like me!). The dish starts with a foundation of perfectly al dente spaghetti, with each strand soaking up the rich flavours of the creamy and velvety Tom Yum sauce that clings beautifully to the spaghetti and perfectly cooked plump prawns. As a result, this pasta has a delightful sea freshness that harmonises with the sauce.

To give this dish complexity, the vibrant tobiko (flying fish roe) is sprinkled generously atop to elevate this pasta dish by adding oceanic saltiness and texture. Then the earthy mushrooms offer a gentle reprieve from the bold flavours. I cannot fault this dish - it's a sure-fire winner for anyone who wants to dip their toes into Thai fusion cuisine with a slight kick of spice!

Take-Away Thai Snacks

Honestly, these take-home treats are nothing to write home about, but the variety available is commendable. Each visit presents an opportunity to explore new snacks and desserts, each one promising a little taste of Thailand. From traditional Thai crackers and candies to more elaborate desserts, there's something for every food explorer.

RECOMMENDED

  • Mango Patbingsu (or any flavour you would like)
  • Tom Yum Spaghetti

Final Words

From late morning until late night, Mango CoCo is an all-day dining destination. Whether you're craving a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, a sumptuous dinner, or simply looking to satisfy your late-night dessert cravings, Mango CoCo has you covered.

A visit to this Thai cafe is a sensory journey that caters to both your sweet and savoury cravings. It's more than just a cafe - it's a mango infused paradise for the tastebuds and I've had a great experience every time. So, if you're in the Sydney CBD, stop by Mango CoCo when you can possible. You won't regret it.
