TL; DR | Summary

If you're conscious about healthy food options or have specific dietary restrictions, 7th Heaven Cafe is a place you'd want to explore! It's a great cafe for those living a vegan lifestyle as all items on the menu can be made vegan. I probably wouldn't recommend it for those looking for classic cafe foods as it may have limited options or tastes not to your palate.

As you enter the cafe, you'll immediately be lit by the natural sunlight basking through the seating area. The menu offers a wide range of options for those who are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free, so it's perfect for those with dietary restrictions or lifestyle preferences.

The menu is also extensive featuring some fascinating dishes not often found in The Shire. So, you're bound to find something interesting to try. It's catered towards healthy eating with protein bowls, zucchini noodles, and organic ingredients. Those who like all the meaty, greasy, and high in sugar foods will struggle to find something here to their liking.

Service

Service is a breeze and the food is beautifully presented, so you'll be off to an excellent start to the day. The servings are considerable in size for the price, which is always welcomed.

You have the option to either order directly through the servers or by QR code, giving you a fuss-free experience. The food comes out fairly quickly, so you're guaranteed good service.

Overall, it's an ideal cafe to visit for those who are health conscious.

Healthy Eating Options

As for the food, I think you just need to order the right items. You'll be in for lots of options if you enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. Some of their items include shakshouka, cilbir poached eggs, and a big Mediterranean breakfast.

But if Asian cuisine is more your type, there are taro pancakes and scrambled kimchi chilli eggs to try out! But don't fret if you're neither of those options, there are tacos, Reuben sandwiches and egg classics. All in all, there's likely a dish that will pique any inquisitive nature.

However, their real strength lies in the many vegan and vegetarian dishes on offer. There's a whopping 14 items with vegan-specific alternatives, if not already vegan. There are also a few gluten-free options, so it's perfect if you have these specific dietary requirements.

Drinks

There's an alluring selection of spiced lattes for those who aren't in the mood for coffee or are looking to reduce their caffeine intake, with blue butterfly pea, turmeric, matcha, rooibos and chai. Many of these lattes have the added benefit of aiding digestion, boosting immunity, and more!

There are also a vast range of juices, smoothies, milkshakes, teas, coffees, and bubble tea to match the extensive menu. It makes a perfect accompaniment to your meal or to take away.

Spiced Lattes

I'm a fan of trying new coffee alternatives, so these spiced lattes are a must-try in my books. I've had the pleasure of trying the rooibos and butterfly pea lattes, which have lovely hues of red and blue, respectively.

The rooibos has a mix of nutty notes with a hint of sweetness, while the butterfly pea has mellow floral undertones. To my taste, it was a bit too milky. I would like to taste more of the spices and flavour, but it's still a nice change to your regular coffee order.

Gallen's Protein Bowl

I'm not what you would call the epitome of health and wellness, but even I was intrigued at the combination of ingredients in this protein bowl.

The variety of vegetables with different textures and tastes, along with the grilled chicken, chickpeas and edamame, makes it a hearty meal. I had to take away a good portion of the dish as I struggled to finish it.

Unfortunately, the chicken was dry, but the beetroot hummus made up for it in moisture while also adding vibrant colour to the bowl.

Mediterranean Bowl (GF & Vegan)

This bowl is packed with Mediterranean style ingredients and it's not often that you get vegan and gluten free options in one dish. However, a lot of work is required to vastly improve this dish to reach it's full potential.

The falafel was a bit hard and lacked the right textures. Although the whole pumpkin slice makes the dish more presentable, it wasn't practical to eat as a lot of manual handling was required to get rid of the skin. The tahini dressing was watery and didn't add much to the bowl.

I would avoid this bowl unless some improvements have been made.

RECOMMENDED

  • If you like healthy foods, try Gallen's Protein Bowl.
  • If you have friends or family that are vegetarian, vegan or require a gluten-free diet, then there's a plethora of menu items to explore

Overall, 7th Heaven Cafe is a great place to go if you're looking for a healthy meal with cleaner options. There's also a vast range of menu items from different cultural backgrounds, which is always encouraging. Known for its many vegan and gluten-free options, it's the perfect cafe if you or someone you know has dietary requirements.
